I agree. I think if you're meant to naturally have bronzey skin (like I do) then thats all fine. If you're genetically meant to be pale then why put yourself at risk to be tan? Its utterly ridiculous. :/
I like being brown!...most of the time. Lol. But if I got any lighter I'd have a yellowish tint and that'd look weird. :)

In your case being overweight and unattractive could be a contributor as to why you are prey to what TV tells you, you should look like. A tanned, bleached blond hair, oompa loompa. There is no such thing as helpful rays from the sun. They all do some form of damage, so in answer to your question: Not at all. UVA and UVB will both cause cancer. Your best to wear a decent sun block and be done with it.

What you see on the outside is really a reflection of the inside. Considering the amount of legit information available on the side effect of tanning (be it natural or tanning beds), the fact that these vain women put their health and life on the line in the pursuit of someone else's vision of beauty shows that they don't love themselves, and have no self respect. They didn't wake up one morning and wish to be tanned, they were influenced to feel that way. Whenever I see a tanned woman who should be naturally white (especially the cold months of winter) All I really see is a sad girl trying to changing who she is so someone will love her, all the while never loving herself.

And if you believe that you really want to be tan, then you too are a victim of media brainwashing. End of story.
